About Us

The Spooner Group

Our Family Businesses

Paul Spooner, Craig and Matt’s father, started Spooner Electric in the early 1970s’. Initially a one-man truck working out of Turtle Valley, the company grew and was incorporated in 1984.

In 1992 the Spooner brothers, Craig and Matt, purchased the company from their dad, operating out of Lee Creek on the North Shuswap. The business was expanded to include Spooner Industrial, North Shuswap Plumbing & Gas and West End Concrete.

West End Concrete, purchased in 2015, is a ready-mix concrete supply company with a full-service concrete batch plant and six trucks serving North Shuswap, Chase, South Shuswap, and Seymour Arm.

Our complete concrete center offers everything from full foundations on residential and commercial projects, to concrete lego-type blocks for retaining walls.

All Your Construction Needs

Spooner Industrial is a full excavation and gravel pit operation. They dig foundations, install septic systems, do lot clearing and road building. They also specialize in water treatment and sewage treatment plants for small subdivisions and large facilities.

Since 1982, they have trained approximately 35 electrical, mechanic, and plumbing apprentices. Currently, the Spooner companies employ about 35 to 40 people.

For the past 50 years, the Spooner group has continued to serve customers in the southern interior with a wide range of industrial, commercial and residential electrical installations and renovations.

What Our Clients Say!

Had a couple of the fellas out for snow removal and sanding. They did an amazing job and then loaned me a set of tire chains so I could get my moving truck backed up the drive. Top notch customer service.

Wow. Top Shelf Service. My lake intake water system broke down on a Saturday. Tech came over in half an hour and troubleshooted a number of issues with the 18 year old system. Tyler gave me a quote and had it all done by Tuesday noon. Diver, Jay Boppre included in the quote. And the Bill was exactly what the quote was. Fabulous work and service. I will recommending them to everyone .

Professional, courteous and friendly service from Spooner. There was a slight lapse in communication in the beginning, but Spooner acknowledged that, which really impressed me.
The exemplary service they provided more than compensated for that in terms of quality and timeliness when they repaired my water intake line. Left the site looking better than when they started. Highly recommend. Thank you!
